  • We offer free spay/neuter services through weekend events four times per year and our Priority Pet Helpline for pets that meet special criteria.

  • We are the only 100% totally free spay/neuter service in the Kansas City area.

  • Watch our social media pages. We announce the date of the events a couple of weeks before they happen with a heads up about the date of the announcement a week before that. We do not release event dates before the announcement.

  • We are a group of several animal welfare organizations working together so we have several locations. Not all of our organizations participate in every event so locations vary.

  • We hold free spay/neuter events four times per year. We announce these events on social media. On the day that we announce an event, we provide a link to instructions for how to make an appointment. It varies by location.

  • At our free spay/neuter events, some organizations only do dogs and some only do cats. This will be stated in the instructions.

    Also, some of our locations have residency restrictions as follows:

    -You must be an Olathe, KS resident to make an appointment at Olathe Animal Shelter.

    -You must be an Independence, MO resident to make an appointment at Independence Health and Animal Services.

  • Click here for a list of low-cost spay/neuter clinics. Most can get you in within a few weeks and some will work with you on the cost so that it is affordable to you. Many of these organizations are members of Spay & Neuter Collaborative of Kansas City.

    If you submitted an appointment request with Pet Resource Center for one of our free S/N events, but didn’t get one, they will follow up with you in a couple of weeks to work with you on scheduling for another time and payment that works for you.

  • We can probably get your pet in for a priority spay through our Priority Pet Helpline at no cost to you. Fill out the form here to get started.

  • SNCKC does not fix feral cats, but there are several organizations in the area that help with community cats. They provide services like helping with trapping, trap rental, transportation to S/N appointments and subsidizing S/N surgery. Click here for a list of these organizations.

  • If you have a pet that you think might be pregnant or a dog that weighs more than 80 pounds, we can arrange free spay/neuter surgery within a couple of weeks. Complete this form to request a referral.
